| thinktanktheatre debut: 'Marvellous' 'Absorbing' 'Excellent' |
thinktanktheatre are proud to report the resounding success of the company’s debut production, The Lover by Harold Pinter, in The Mill Studio at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford. Ticket sales for the production far exceeded the company’s expectations. “We were hopeful of selling perhaps half of the available tickets,” said thinktanktheatre co-founder Saul Ware, “and even then we thought at times that we were being over optimistic. For a brand new theatre company to sell in excess of 80% of the available seats for its debut production at a venue like The Mill Studio is a dream start.”
Jane Huxley, thinktanktheatre’s other co-founder, added “Ticket sales aside, the audience reaction has been nothing but positive. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to contact us afterwards with their kind comments. One of our aims as a theatre company is to create entertaining, intelligent and thought provoking theatre and from our audiences’ reactions we certainly seem to have achieved that with The Lover.”
The Lover has become the first play in thinktanktheatre’s intended repertoire of productions. The company will continue to perform The Lover and Jane and Saul are currently searching for further venues. “Finding venues for our productions has proved to be the most difficult part of running the company so far.” said Jane, “We would be delighted to hear from anyone who may be able to help us in our quest.” |
